Licence & warranty

Effective 12 September 2026

QuickKey is a commercial product. Its hardware designs, firmware, desktop software, website, branding and documentation are proprietary and protected by intellectual property laws.

Limited software licence

When you purchase or otherwise receive an authorised QuickKey product, QuickKey grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable licence to install and use the accompanying desktop software and firmware for your own personal or internal business use with QuickKey hardware. You may make a reasonable backup copy for that purpose. Ownership of the software and all intellectual property rights stays with QuickKey and its licensors; the software is licensed, not sold.

You may not copy or distribute the software or firmware, publish or disclose source code, sell, rent, sublicense or commercially exploit it separately, create derivative works, remove ownership notices, or reverse engineer, decompile or bypass its security or authentication features, except to the limited extent applicable law expressly permits. This licence ends automatically if you breach these terms, after which you must stop using and delete all copies of the software in your possession.

Software operation

QuickKey may provide corrections, security updates or new versions, but does not promise that every feature will remain available or work with every future operating-system or third-party application update. The software is otherwise provided on an “as available” basis to the fullest extent permitted by law.

QuickKey can send keystrokes, open files and websites, type text and run commands selected by you. Review each binding before using it and keep backups of important data. You are responsible for the commands and content you configure and for using the product lawfully.

Three-month limited hardware warranty

QuickKey warrants to the original purchaser that the QuickKey device will be free from defects in materials and workmanship under normal use for three months from the original delivery date. This warranty applies only to genuine QuickKey hardware bought from QuickKey or an authorised seller and is not transferable.

The warranty does not cover normal wear and tear; cosmetic changes that do not affect operation; accidental damage; liquid, fire, impact, misuse, neglect or improper storage; unauthorised repair, modification or disassembly; use with unsuitable power, cables or accessories; or damage caused by third-party products or events outside our reasonable control.

To make a claim, contact QuickKey through the support channel shown on your order confirmation before the warranty expires. Include proof of purchase, the device serial number and a clear description of the fault. We may ask you to perform reasonable checks or return the device. If a covered defect is confirmed, QuickKey will, at its option, repair or replace the device or refund the price paid. Replacement products may be new or professionally refurbished and are covered for the remainder of the original warranty period.

Consumer rights and liability

This limited warranty is in addition to, and does not exclude, restrict or replace, any rights or remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded under applicable consumer law.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, QuickKey is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for lost profits, business interruption or loss of data arising from use of the product. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot legally be limited or excluded.

Third-party materials

Certain components remain subject to their own licences. Built-in icons include work from Lucide under the ISC and MIT licences. Geist and Geist Mono are provided under the SIL Open Font License. Other dependency notices supplied with the software continue to apply. Third-party names and marks belong to their respective owners and are used only to identify compatibility.

Earlier open-source releases

Any version that QuickKey previously distributed under an open-source licence remains governed by the licence included with that specific version. This proprietary licence applies to current and future versions distributed with these terms and does not revoke rights already granted for an earlier release.
