Privacy notice

Scope

This notice explains how QuickKey (“we”, “us” or “our”) handles information when you visit quickkey.in, download the QuickKey app or use the app with a QuickKey device. A shop, marketplace, payment provider, delivery company or authorised seller may separately process order, payment and shipping information under its own privacy notice.

Website analytics and hosting

We use Vercel Web Analytics to measure page views and understand aggregate use of the website. It may process the page or route visited, referring site, approximate country or region, browser, operating system, device type and event time. Vercel states that Web Analytics does not use cookies, does not retain IP addresses with analytics events and uses a daily rotating identifier that expires after 24 hours. We do not use this data to identify you or to build an advertising profile.

Vercel hosts the website and may process ordinary technical logs needed to serve and secure it. App downloads are delivered through GitHub Releases; GitHub may receive the information normally sent when your browser requests a file, such as your IP address and browser details. Vercel and GitHub process that information under their own privacy terms. We do not use advertising trackers and do not sell personal information.

Data kept by the app

Profiles, key assignments, text snippets, file paths, settings and key artwork are stored locally on your computer. The device pairing credential is also stored locally and is protected using operating-system encryption when available. This information is not sent to QuickKey, and the app does not include advertising or behavioural analytics.

The app communicates over USB with the connected deck to authenticate it, receive button events and install a firmware file that you select. When you configure a key to open a website, your operating system opens that address in your default browser; the destination site then handles the connection under its own terms. The app does not monitor keystrokes entered in other applications.

Permissions

On macOS, QuickKey requests Accessibility permission when an action needs to send a shortcut, type text or use a media key. This permission lets the app perform only the actions you configure, but macOS controls the permission and may require it again after the app is replaced or updated. Windows does not currently require an equivalent permission. You can withdraw system permissions at any time, although affected actions will stop working.

Retention and your choices

Local app data remains on your computer until you remove it. You can delete profiles and artwork in the app, forget a paired device, or remove the QuickKey application-data folder to erase its local configuration. Removing the application alone may not remove that data, because macOS and Windows commonly preserve application settings for later reinstallation.

Website analytics are retained by our service provider according to our Vercel plan and its applicable terms. Because those analytics are not associated with an identifiable user account, we may be unable to isolate a particular visitor’s events. You may use browser content-blocking controls to prevent the analytics request.

Security, children and changes

We use reasonable safeguards appropriate to the limited information we handle, but no storage or transmission method is completely secure. QuickKey is a general-purpose productivity product and is not directed to children. We may update this notice as the product or our service providers change; the effective date above identifies the current version.
